Cornish Cottages is a family run company established originally in 1985 as Mullion Cottages providing self-catering services in Mullion on the Lizard Peninsula. The company earned an excellent reputation locally and soon began attracting properties further afield, eventually prompting the change of name to Cornish Cottages to reflect our services now being provided across the entire county.
You’ll find all of our properties represented here and new ones are being added on a regular basis. Our dedicated team have put together a unique selection of self-catering holiday properties in the most beautiful parts of Cornwall. As we all live and work in Cornwall we can provide the most accurate information, not just places to stay but places to visit, to eat and to remember!
We’ve always been at the forefront of maintaining a professional website and this latest version was launched in May 2015. Our experience, customer feedback and expert advisers have all culminated in our best website yet. We’re an environmentally mindful company and in recent years have made moves to be even more ecologically sympathetic. Our office is now carbon neutral! We achieved this in a number of ways; first we installed a Ground Source Heat Pump, so instead of using oil, 600m of underground pipes are naturally heated by the earth, in turn heating our whole building. All of our light fittings are LED, although more expensive to purchase, they are around 90% more efficient than incandescent bulbs. We also installed a solar PV array that generates sufficient energy to power our whole office PLUS the equivalent of one standard household. Most recently, our new company vehicle, a Vauxhall Ampera, runs up to 50 miles on batteries alone. We charge it daily from the solar array and are currently achieving the equivalent of over 250 mpg.
