Ruby Cottage is one of three stone built traditional Cornish cottages situated at Ruby Farmhouse in the secluded outskirts of Porkellis village. (The other two cottages are Kernyk and Dingley. An extended family could book more than one property.) Conveniently located for exploring West Cornwall’s wealth of walks, beaches and coastline, gardens and family attractions. Ruby Cottage is approximately thirty minutes drive from The Lizard Peninsula, Mount’s Bay or St. Ives Bay. Even closer is the World Heritage Site of Poldark Mine, described as “one of the two most atmospheric mine tours in Europe”. The ancient town of Helston with its famous annual Flora Day celebrations is less than four miles away.
Approximately fifteen minutes drive away are Porthleven with its historic harbour and beach and Falmouth's world famous harbour and Blue Flag beach (Gyllyngvase), National Maritime Museum and river boat trips. The Eden Project and Heligan Garden are within an hour's drive.
Ruby Farmhouse is ideal for children and for pets, having both a children’s play area and a field for dogs to run. Within walking distance is ‘The Star’ pub which serves home cooked food and welcomes children and pets.
Ruby Cottage is entered from the patio through a stable door into the large fully fitted family kitchen. Gas cooker, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer and fridge/freezer. The light and spacious lounge/dining room has a beamed ceiling and granite features. 21" TV/DVD/digi box, CD player. Upstairs there are three lovely bedrooms, a double with garden views and en suite shower room, a large twin room with dual aspect countryside views, a pretty single room and family bathroom with bath, handbasin and toilet.
Cot/high chair/stair gate available. Down and feather duvets and pillows are provided. Outside is a sheltered 'secret garden' surrounded by mature shrubs and flowers and large patio with a brick-built BBQ and garden furniture.
Full central heating throughout. Non-smoking property. Private parking for two cars. One well-behaved dog is accepted at £25 per week. No towels.
