‘Porthmeor’ is a unique Cornish cottage in Porthleven, set up above the side of the harbour with partial harbour and sea views. Offering bright and airy accommodation for up to three people, it is perfect for soaking up the atmosphere of this traditional and historic Cornish port. It’s also an excellent base from which to explore this beautiful county.
Entered via a porch and then double doors that open directly to the lounge, the first thing that you notice is the seaside feel that has been carefully embellished into every detail. The light that comes through the double doors is reflected beautifully around the predominantly white lounge, picked out brilliantly with colourful sofas and pictures by local artists on the walls. Having comfortable seating for up to four people, a granite fireplace with flame effect electric stove and an LCD TV with freeview and DVD player built-in.
The separate dining area has plenty of space for the circular table and four chairs, and leads into the galley kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with electric double oven with 4-ring hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and a washing machine.
Narrow stairs lead to the first floor, where the bedrooms and bathroom are found. Bedroom one is a double room with views across the village, partial views of the harbour and out to sea, with 4'6" double bed, bedside tables and lamps and a treble built-in wardrobe. Bedroom two has similar views and is a single room with 3' single bed and large chest of drawers. The bathroom has bath with hand held shower (due to height restriction) and a matching toilet and handbasin with mirror and light over.
Rental includes bedlinen, towels and electricity. Regret no smoking and no pets. Care must be taken on the stairs which are steeper and narrower than you may be used to. Outside to the front is a sunny terrace with bench. At the rear are two flights of steep stone steps that lead up to a terraced patio garden, with furniture. Children must be supervised at all times.
