Once the haunt of smugglers and the occasional pirate, the village now attracts many windsurfers and scuba divers to the area.

St Martin is well suited for cycling and walking enthusiasts. Sailors would also appreciate the Helford River which is 3.5 miles away and temporary membership is available at the Sailing Club.  It is also possible to hire boats at nearby St Anthony Cove.
