Located on the north coast of Cornwall on the opposite side of St Ives Bay, Hayle is famous for its three miles of golden sands.
The beach stretches from Hayle River to Godrevy lighthouse offering possibly the most attractive beaches in St Ives Bay. The beach offers activities ranging from extreme sports (surfing, kayaking) to swimming and sunbathing. The sheltered estuary attracts migratory birds and is nationally popular with birdwatchers. Sightings include avocets, ospreys and a host of wading birds.
The town of Hayle itself has a good range of shops, eating establishments and other facilities. With its easy access to other parts of the county and nearby attractions, Hayle is a popular holiday destination.
