The city's central location is ideal for exploring Cornwall.  A selection of beaches, gardens, walks and other attractions are all accessible by car.  The Eden Project, Falmouth, St Ives, Penzance, Newquay and the Lizard Peninsula are all within approximately one hour's drive.  During the Summer season, a boat service links Truro and Falmouth enabling visitors to experience the tranquil, wooded creeks of the river Fal.
