In an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Lamorna Cove is situated between Mousehole and Land’s End.
The cove is a small sandy beach, a few cottages and the stone pier. There is a paying car park on the harbour and a small cafe, but the hamlet is fairly unspoiled by tourism. The small quay is still used for fishing, but it is fairly exposed to the elements and boats must be dragged up the slipway during storms.
A walk from the cove towards Mousehole passes an old water mill and leads through the hamlet of Castallack. There are various footpaths in the area, in addition to the coastal path running through Lamorna from Mousehole to Porthcurno. This is well worth exploring, if only for the stunning views and the rugged coastline.
Overlooking the Cove, with its small sandy beach at low tide sits the Lamorna Cove Cafe, featured in magazines and newspapers.
