Craig-a-Bella Mycroft is a one bedroom annexe on the end of a large house, perched on the cliff above Poldhu Cove. It is mentioned in Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's story 'The Adventure of the Devil's Foot' as the "little whitewashed house" where Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson stayed. Spectacular and extensive views of the beautiful sandy beach, the cove and southwards down the coast to Mullion Island can be had from the conservatory styled sitting room and the bedroom. The South-West coastal path passes the front door giving access directly to miles of glorious cliff top walks in both directions, and the sandy beach of Poldhu is just 100 metres down the road.
Entered up two steps into the bright and sunny sitting room with two-seater settee and armchair, dining table with two chairs, electric real flame heater and television with DVD player. Up two small steps into the galley kitchen which has an electric cooker, fridge/freezer, microwave and storage units. The shower room has shower cubicle, toilet and sink. Spacious twin bedroom also with spectacular sea views, with two 3' single beds, bedside table with lamp, wardrobe and drawer space.
Car parking is available at the side of the road outside the property and rental is inclusive of bedlinen and electricity. Heating is by electric panel heater in the bedroom, by electric heater in the sitting room and wall-mounted fan heater in the bathroom. You are requested not to smoke inside this property please. Not suitable for infants.
The main house consists of a two bedroom holiday let (388 – Craig-a-Bella-Sherlock) and the owner’s residence.
An ideal location for beaches and other attractions whilst remaining quiet and peacefull for a relaxing holiday.
