‘Lankidden House’ is a spacious semi-detached stone built property which dates from the 19th century. It has undergone complete renovation in 2006 and has retained its charm and character. Situated on the edge of Lizard village, it is only a few minutes walk to Church Cove, and the centre of the village which has a range of food shops, a post office, restaurant, pub, serpentine stone workshops, and the famous pasty shop. Ideally positioned for exploring the Lizard Peninsula, the house is within ten minutes walk of Housel Bay and the most southerly point of The Lizard, and the picturesque Kynance Cove. The beautiful fishing village of Cadgwith is a half hour walk along the coastal path.
Accommodation is entered from the parking area at the rear, into a brand new sunroom with seating for four and a coffee table, an archway leads through into the light and sunny beamed lounge, which has two, three-seater leather sofas, wicker chair, coffee table, a wood burning stove, bookshelves, TV, DVD and music system. The slate floored dining room is triple aspect with lovely views of the sea at Church Cove. French doors open to the private rear garden. Archways lead to a fitted kitchen with granite work surface, electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. A large picture window gives fantastic views of the sea at Church Cove. A staircase leads to a sunny landing with doors off to; Bedroom one double room with king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, hairdryer, chair, double wardrobe and drawers. The bedroom has a dual aspect with lovely sea views. Bedroom two with twin 3’ single beds, bedside table and lamps, drawers and a double wardrobe. Bedroom three has full size bunk beds, enclosed hanging rail, shelving, and individual bedside lights. Superb views over the rear garden and open countryside to the sea. Family bathroom is newly fitted with matching toilet, handbasin and bath, powerful mixer shower over, and marvellous sea views. Outside is a utility room which houses the chest freezer, washer/dryer, and BBQ. This has enough room for bikes, wet suits, etc and has a tap with hose.
Front and rear gardens adjoin open countryside and enjoy uninterrupted and beautiful sea views. The extensive lawns are divided by mature shrubs and flower borders. The gardens are completely enclosed by stone hedges, and are a safe haven for children. There is garden furniture for summer meals outside, and ample parking for several cars within the grounds. The property is centrally heated and double-glazed and rental includes bedlinen, heating and electricity, travel cot and high chair (when required). No smoking requested in this property.
Two weeks ago we enjoyed our second stay at Lankidden House. I would like to book up now for next Easter to ensure that we can reserve the house. Thanks again for a lovely holiday experience and also a special thanks to the cleaner who sent on the gameboy games my son left behind.
