363 - Summer Lodge - Lizard

Summer Lodge is a large, recently refurbished dormer bungalow in Lizard village, Cornwall.  Sleeping 10 in five large bedrooms with no less than four bathrooms, two of which are en suite.   No expense has been spared and the quality is evident in every part of the house.  The kitchen and dining area especially are of a bespoke design and the tables and units have all been handmade, as has the staircase.

From the front door you enter a tiled porch leading through into the large entrance hall.  There are three ground floor bedrooms:-  Bedroom one is the master suite.  Extremely spacious, with handcrafted king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe and ornamental fireplace.  Double doors lead out to a small decked area with seating.  The en suite luxury bathroom has a free-standing roll top bath, matching toilet and handbasin and a separate shower cubicle with power shower over.  Bedroom two is another double room with en suite bathroom.  Having bedside tables and lamps, double wardrobe and fully tiled bathroom with matching toilet, handbasin and bath with power shower over.   The third ground floor bedroom is a twin room with two 3' single beds, bedside table and lamps and a wardrobe.  Across the hall is a fully tiled shower room with shower cubicle, matching toilet and handbasin.

Also on the ground floor is the lounge, having comfy seating for 10 people, LCD TV, freeview and a DVD player.

Upstairs are a further two bedrooms and a family bathroom.  Bedroom four is a large double room with king-size bed, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe and fantastic sea views from both sides of the room.  Bedroom five is another twin room with two 3' single beds, bedside tables and lamps, wardrobe and again, great sea views.  Head height is restricted in parts of this room due to the slope of the roof.  The family bathroom is fully tiled and has a matching toilet, handbasin and bath with shower over.

The kitchen and dining area are the centrepiece of the whole house.  The free-form shape of the dining table will seat 10 easily and the similarly shaped central island in the kitchen also has bar stools at one end, ideal for breakfast time.  There is a dishwasher, double range cooker, double sinks, large American style fridge/freezer and lots of storage space.  A separate utility area houses the washing machine, with another toilet and handbasin just off.

Outside is parking for three-four cars easily and a boat if necessary.  The large detached garage houses a table tennis table for your use and there is a sheltered rear garden.

Summer Lodge is within easy walking distance back to Lizard village where there are two pubs/restaurants, general store, post office and gift shops.  You are also just 400 metres from the SW coastal path offering stunning cliff top walking in either direction.  Rental includes bedlinen, electricity, heating, cot and high chair (if required).  Regret no dogs and no smoking.
