The Minack Theatre in Cornwall is the most famous open-air cliff top theatre in Britain, and possibly in the world. The theatre is carved into the granite cliff overlooking the spectacular panorama of the Atlantic Ocean as its back-drop.

The theatre is built in the style of a Roman Amphitheatre, and was the idea of Rowena Cade, who lived in a cottage behind the theatre.

The Minack theatre is used from June to September for a full summer season of 17 plays, produced by companies from all over the UK and visiting companies from the USA. The theatre is open for visitors throughout the rest of the year.

Located near Porthcurno, four miles from Land’s End in Cornwall. Whilst in the Porthcurno valley, why not spend some time exploring the fabulous beach - an excellent location for swimming or family days out. During your time there take a visit to the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum, and discover the early role that Porthcurno played in the development of modern communications technology.
