Ivy Cottage, Lizard on 20 / 11 / 2008 Review of: 210 - Ivy Cottage
|
In previous years we have spent some time on the Lizard but could not have chosen a more ideal base for our walking holiday than Ivy Cottage. From the first we have felt quite at home here, it was clean, spacious and welcoming. It has made our holiday even more enjoyable. Beal family, Womborne, Staffs |

30 years of renting cottages and this has to be the best! Every comfort is catered for and so a delight to return to after a days walking. Local butcher provided excellent meat and the pastie shop fulfilled all our expectations. Russell family, South Wales. 21.7.07 |

Our third holiday at Ivy Cottage. I think this is the best self-catering property we have found. Will we ever want to stop staying here and spending our days at Kynance? No!

1 - 8 Nov : Peter & Janet, Bournville We are regular visitors to this part of Cornwall - Porthleven is an excellent place to stay and this cottage is the best we've stayed in yet. One day we'll live down here but in the meantime we'll certainly return to relive lovely memories of the past week. |

We had a fantastic week here. Thank you!
The house is a "home from home" with everything you could need for your break, and a perfect base for exploring the area.
We enjoyed the local beaches, went horse riding and did some lovely walks of the surrounding areas.
Would definitely recommend a stay here, and we will be coming back! |

|
Following our recent stay, we found a home from home - not a typical holiday let. Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout, Kynance View provides a degree of comfort which should satisfy everyone,
Situated a short walk from Lizard centre, the property affords far reaching views to the sea and beyond.
Numerous grades of walk are literally on the doorstep - ideal for much needed exercise with or without man's best friend! |

We have stayed at this property for 9 years for our main family summer holiday. the location is superb and the children love that they can play on the beach and we can keep an eye on them from the property. The recent refurbishment of the kitchen and bathroom have made it even more pleasant to stay. Central for lots of interesting things to visit in the local area. |

What can i say, what a lovely cosy homely place to stay, it was spotless and very comfortable, just a short stroll to the beautiful mullion cove. The views out of main bedroom window are fabulous with beautiful countryside and wonderfull seaviews. Jackie and Richard are really lovely people, very helpful and the little personal touches ie home made cake and card plus fruit and fresh flowers was a lovely thought. We stayed late september which was a lovely time, a short drive to lots of fabulous coves and more or less having the beach to ourselves was fantastic. Lizard which is only aprrox 10min drive is a place anyone must visit, we went nearly everyday and the seals always gave us a wonderful show. The whole area is just breathtaking and if you decide to stay at cosy nook its just the perfect holiday. Oh and the dogs are very friendly. Thankyou to Jackie and Richard for their kind hospitality.

Having stayed here for a week, we really did not want to leave. The location alone makes it totally unique, and very quiet. The sea views are wider than 180 degrees, and a calm tranquility pervades. We would love to return, and hope this part of the coast remains unspoilt. |
Rachel & Joe on 12 / 10 / 2008 Review of: 129 - Stable Cottage
|
We spent a week here in August 08 and had a very relaxed holiday. Stable cottage is comfortable and clean. The bed & the sofa are both very comfy, good to sink into after a long day; the shower is also very good - these things are important on holiday!! The kitchenette is very small, with (as stated) an electric 2 hob table top oven. We managed to cook a roast chicken dinner one night so we thought that was good. My only gripe with the cooker is that if you are short like me - 5ft 2 - you literally cannot see what you are cooking on the hob, which was a new experience for me.
The surrounding area is beautiful, a great place for doing lots of walking with stunning coastlines. Polurrian Cove is about a 10 minute walk through some a couple of fields and is a really lovely place to relax. It was not overly crowded there as is not so easily accessed by car from what we could see!
Stable Cottage is just a 10 minute walk from Mullion's shops and two pubs. Both pubs serve dinner - Mounts Bay serves better food in our opinion and is a modern pub and The Old Inn is traditional and very family oriented in the dining areas and the food arrived within 5 minutes which we felt was alarmingly quick.
Stable Cottage is well placed to explore the surrounding areas both on foot and by car. All in all we really enjoyed our week there and the owners were friendly. We felt welcomed after a long drive to get there with cream teas waiting for us.
We recommend this cottage to anyone looking for somewhere cosy that's a little off the beaten track to stay that wants somewhere peaceful. The owners house is close to the cottage, but you have views of their wonderful gardens! Great. |

Nice and peaceful with the convinience of being close to all amenities. The only thing that I have against the property is that it does not have satelite tv, only freeview, which when the weather is rainy it would be nice to see other channels. Other than that a nice place to stay |

Longships on 25 / 05 / 2008 Review of: 291 - Longships
|
We have just come back from a lovely week staying at Longships. We were amazed at the size of the cottage. There is so much room for four people. It certainly was one of the best cottages we have stayed in.
The area is beautiful. Quiet, but not far from the shops and lovely walks along the clifftops. We would definitely recommend. A slight minus is the foghorn if there is any fog, but we had our earplugs supplied and once we had these on there was no problem. J. Henman. |

Just a note to say how much we all enjoyed our week staying in the above cottage at Lizard Point Lighthouse. The cottage is wonderful, and had everything we could need whilst away from home.
Thanks also to the caretakers, Carolyn and Don, who were very friendly and helpful to us all. We have been waiting to stay at the lighthouse for a few years, since Eddie Matthews, the former keeper, told us that one day the cottages would be refurbished for holiday accommodation. It was certainly worth the wait, and we look forward to a return visit.
My youngest nephew had his wish come true - he loves lighthouses, and hoped that the foghorn would sound as often as possible!
Many thanks once again.

We spent two wonderful holiday weeks in Cargey Cottage on the Lizard nr Ruan Minor. The cottage is an extremely comfortable and clean accomodation, the best we had so far in England and the owners are very friendly and helpful! In the evening after long coastal walks with breathtaking views we enjoyed the "stargazing" hot tub in the garden. Try Cornish Cream Tea or toasted sandwiches in the "most southerly Cafe" at Lizard Point. Very good and quite cheap homemade curries are available at the Curry Company in Mullion every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 5.30 to 8 pm (pre-order advisable!) Kynance Cove at low tide is a must. Although our kids didn't want to go to England for a fourth time next year they have enjoyed our stay so much that they changed their minds - but only if it's Cargey Cottage again. The long journey was worth every mile! |

Just had our second stay booked through Mullion Cottages. We first stayed at The Boathouse, on the Lizard which was a super location and extremely comfortable and clean accommodation. Following our recent stay at Bass Point Cottage, once again the location was breathtaking although the cottage itself required some tlc regarding cleaning which we did following our arrival. Also, there was no rubbish collection and the owners advised dumping the rubbish in the village bins which was rather inconvenient. |

Had a fantastic week at Parnvoose Cottage and didn't want to leave! Weather was lovely which made the coastal walks very enjoyable. Places to visit include St Ives (buy some chocolate brownie fudge and watch the surfers!), Ann's Famous Pasty Shop and of course, Kynance Cove. But be careful of the waves - what starts off as paddling can soon lead to being swept off your feet and getting drenched! (Good fun though).
Playing hide and seek in the amazing garden at night time was hilarious - watch out for the pond! Although quite scary. Most memorable experience for Dad was meeting the gardens six foot badger! (Apparently).
The locals at the Top House are very friendly and we can't forget to mention good old John from the Gift Shop in the Lizard.
Defo coming again next year. |

We first came to Cornwall eight years ago and have been back six times since. We have used Mullion Cottages on the last three occasions. The cottages have always been of a very high quality and the staff in your office are always very helpful. We would recommend Mullion Cottages to anybody wishing to obtain a top quality service. |
Renate & Peter Pfeifer - Vienna on 08 / 10 / 2005 |
After more than 1.300 miles of driving from Vienna to Cornwall we stayed for one week at Bass Point Lookout (9th - 16th Sept). This is absolutely the best place we've ever been to and it was definitely our best holiday. Forgetting the car for one week, just walking around, enjoying the beautiful nature of the Lizard Peninsula, it was amazing. Never before we were that speechless as when we saw this gorgeous location for the first time after the exciting ride on the track ;-) We really hope to come back as soon as possible. Thanks to Mullion Cottages and Vanessa who prepared the cottage so comfortable and clean - and at least: The English people are the most friendly people of all nations we've ever met before. |

This was our first time staying with Mullion Cottages and it was wonderful. We stayed at Parcwartha, which was in the most ideal location. Within easy reach of Mullion Cove, Lizard and gorgeous Cadgwith. We have recommended Mullion Cottages to all our friends and have no hesitation of booking with you again. thank you for making our stay so lovely. |

We have stayed at The Boathouse twice and other properties on the Lizard. The area is fantastic, even in the winter, and we have always had excellent service from the staff at Mullion Cottages. The coastal walks are great and even our teenage children enjoy the windswept beaches. Swimming in the huge waves at Kynance cove at Easter is Awesome! |

We count ourselves lucky to have found 'Parnvoose' with its amazing garden. So many different areas, each a 'world' of its own. Absolute bliss to sit on the higher terrace with a drink and a book! The garden and brilliant weather certainly encouraged us to try out the barbecue. Great space for the children to play hide and seek.
This has been a good base for a family holiday visiting good beaches at Kynance, Porthcurno and over at St Ives Bay. National Trust membership is useful! Good walks on the coastal path and we enjoyed the cycle trail from Bissoe to Portreath. Even night time at the cottage brings a magic of its own with owls, bats and the effect of moonlight.
The Top House in Lizard Village offers reasonable meals. Most of the village were in on our last Saturday as we had a power cut!
A great location, with lots of happy memories. |

My stay at Cliff House, Mullion, with my grandchildren was brilliant. The house is superb and the grounds gorgeous. So easy to just go for a walk along the cliff path to places or travel by car. Everyone that we met in the area were so friendly and helpful. A holiday to treasure and hopefully to return to next year. I have certainly recommended Cliff House and Mullion Cottages to my friends and my photographs prove all I have said. |

This is the second year we have used Mullion Cottages and didn't think that the Winch House in Church Cover could be equalled. This year we spent two weeks in a converted barn in Porthallow Vineyard and can't praise the standard and comfort of the house highly enough. We look forward to returning to the area next year. |

We have been visiting the Lizard area for the last 5 years, by far the best part of Cornwall. We always use Mullion Cottages, great service and superb cottages. We last visited in May 05 and stayed at Angrouse, which is a very special cottage.
Best morning coffee, try the Cafe at Mullion Meadows and for a special evening meal try Mullion Cove Hotel, great food & views.

We came to Cornwall last year and spent a wonderful week camping, the Lizard and Mullion area's are wonderful places for a relaxing yet very enjoyable holiday, the Fish and Chips we had are by far the best we have ever tasted, we will be returning again this year but are going posh, we are renting a property in the Lizard area's, can't wait. |
